Allama Iqbal International Airport
Allama Iqbal International Airport
Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore (AIIAP) was upgraded from a CAT-II airfield to CAT-IIIB due to adverse weather conditions caused by heavy fog during the months of November to January.
Prior to the upgrade, flights would routinely be delayed, diverted, or cancelled. These conditions resulted in financial losses for the airlines, airport and affiliated service providers, and a major inconvenience for passengers.
IEC installed the latest CAT-IIIB airfield lighting, A-VDGS, ILCMS, Surface Movement Radar and MLATs solution from ADB SAFEGATE to ensure smooth guidance from landing to docking.
Naval Air Station
Naval Air Station
Naval Air Station, Ormara was a greenfield air base where IEC successfully designed and installed airfield lighting and NAVAID system with associated Mechanical and Civil work. The scope included airfield lighting systems with Monitoring and Control System and control desk, apron lighting construction of sub-station building, Installation of Doppler Very High Frequency Omni Range System & Distance Measuring Equipment (DVOR/DME), Vault Room Equipment, HT/LT power system, fire alarm system and 2 450 KVA backup diesel generating sets.
IEC was also tasked to conduct the Airport Geodetic survey, and preparation of landing plates.
The successful completion of this project has greatly improved operations at this base during low light and harsh weather conditions.
Multan International Airport
Multan International Airport
IEC completed the installation of two new Passenger Boarding bridges at Multan International Airport, bringing the total number of gates to four thus doubling the capacity of the airport. The scope also included Advanced Visual docking Guidance systems (A-VDGS), Ground Power Units and underground service pit systems.
These systems allowed the airport operator to increase its efficiency by reducing the aircraft turnaround time by 30% and providing additional services to airlines, resulting in an increase in revenue, by about 50%.
Quetta International Airport
Quetta International Airport
As part of a larger strategy, CAA decided to undergo a major expansion and upgradation of Quetta International Airport (QIAP), the largest airport of Baluchistan province, due to its importance in the region. and international stands.
The project was executed in phases, with focus on extending the capability of the airport by adding 2 new passenger boarding bridges and allied parking stand equipment in the first phase. This included A-VDGS (Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System), 400 Hz ground power units and underground aircraft power supply pits at both domestic
